Acme provides an all-round grounds maintenance service for customers who are responsible for managing larger areas such as; Local Authorities, business parks and property management companies our service is tailored to each client’s requirements and budget.
Grass mowing
We have a range of rotary and deck mowers along with pedestrian mowers for those smaller and more formal areas. Depending on each the client’s requirements, we usually mow on a fortnightly basis during the growing season (April – October) to keep costs lower.
Hedge trimming/flailing
We ensure hedges are kept tidy and cut back from footpaths and areas where there’s high pedestrian traffic. Most hedges are trimmed by operators using hedge trimmers, for much larger stretches it is more cost effective to be completed by our tractor mounted flail – this is usually undertaken during October/November to avoid the nesting season.
Trees
We can undertake every aspect of tree surgery to British Standards 3998. Some tree work may be included within our contracts such as light pruning and lifting lower branches to above head height, removing broken and fallen branches. All other or major tree work requirements would be priced separately from the contract.
Strimming
For areas that can’t be reached with mowers ie banks and verges can be strimmed, usually around 3 times a year. Some areas can be left longer, if they have been planted with spring/summer bulbs and then strimmed after flowering.
Herbicide treatment
To keep hard standing areas weed free we will use an effective herbicide treatment when required.
Border management
Keeping shrubs tidy and managing weeds is carried out throughout the season with beds and borders topped with woodchip if required to help keep weed free.
Leaf collection
During the Autumn/Winter programme leaf collection is another part of the service.
Field line marking
We can provide a line marking service for local authorities with public playing fields. Our operators are DBS (formerly CRB) checked for working on school grounds and public play areas.
Light Landscaping projects
We can undertake light landscaping projects that don’t cost a small fortune.
